FIFA and Global Citizen have announced an unprecedented show for the 2026 World Cup final.
Stars Madonna, Shakira, and the South Korean group BTS will share the stage during the very first halftime show in World Cup history, scheduled for July 19, 2026, at the New York–New Jersey Stadium. Directed by Chris Martin, this show will be broadcast live to millions of viewers around the world.
Beyond the musical aspect, this event will also have a social and educational dimension. The show will support the FIFA World Fund and Global Citizen for education, an initiative aimed at raising 100 million dollars to promote access to quality education and football-related opportunities for underprivileged children. According to the organizers, more than 30 million dollars have already been raised through this international campaign.FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the participation of Madonna, Shakira, and BTS, stating that their music transcends borders and brings generations together. The famous characters from Sesame Street and the Muppets will also take part in the show to highlight the importance of educating children around the world.
