The Iranian military announced Thursday that it will target any ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz, while the country’s navy announced it had struck two vessels attempting to pass through this strategic waterway.
“Any ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz will be targeted,” the Iranian General Staff announced, as quoted by the Tasnim news agency, adding that the strait was now “completely closed to all types of ships” following renewed US airstrikes against Iran.The Iranian navy, quoted by state television IRIB and the Mehr news agency, announced that “two ships that were attempting to illegally cross the Strait of Hormuz were struck.”
