Everything remains to be done: Atlético Madrid and Arsenal, in search of their first Champions League, ended up level (1-1) on Wednesday in the first leg of the semi-final, leaving the suspense intact for the return leg next Tuesday in London.

Everything is still to be done: Atlético Madrid and Arsenal, in search of their first Champions League, ended up drawing (1-1) on Wednesday in the first leg of the semi-final, leaving all suspense for the return leg next Tuesday in London.

There was little doubt, as kickoff approached, that Wednesday’s match at the Metropolitano would not reach the dizzying heights of the day before, at the Parc des Princes (5-4) between PSG and Bayern. Simply because the players, and the tactical approaches, were not the same, and football would be far too perfect if it were always played that way.

The match, however, was far from the announced disaster, between the Gunners who were first in control and then almost extinguished by the intensity of the Colchoneros, who will go to London on Tuesday with a few regrets.
