The Iranian navy fired shots, including cruise missiles, as a warning against American military ships in the Strait of Hormuz, State television reported, citing a statement from the army.

The Iranian navy fired shots, including cruise missiles, as a warning against U.S. military ships in the Strait of Hormuz, state television reported, citing a statement from the army.

“The Americano-Zionist (Americano-Israeli, ed.) ships having ignored our initial warning, the navy (…) fired cruise missiles, rockets, and combat drones at them,” according to the same source.

Iran had earlier warned that it would attack the U.S. military if it approached the strategic strait, after Donald Trump announced an initiative to help ships that had been blocked for two months in the Gulf.
