Back from an official mission in Europe, notably in Rome, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé convened, upon his arrival in Port-au-Prince, this Tuesday, May 12, an extraordinary Council of Ministers held in the diplomatic lounge of Toussaint Louverture International Airport. This emergency meeting, dedicated to the national security situation, reflects, according to the Prime Minister’s Office, the expressed desire of the head of government to place the fight against crime at the top of his priorities.“Aware of the legitimate anxiety of the population in the face of the resurgence of criminal acts, the head of government firmly reaffirmed the executive’s total determination to restore republican order across the entire national territory,” the Prime Minister’s Office stated in a communiqué.

In the face of the resurgence of criminal acts which plunges the population into anxiety, the executive intends to act without delay. The working session made it possible to examine “rigorously the state of the security situation across the entire national territory and to decide on concrete measures aimed at immediately strengthening the operational capacities of the law enforcement forces.”
