The religious movement “Tèt Ansanm pou la Pè” announced the organization of a large peaceful march on Monday, May 18, 2026, to support the Haitian national football team, qualified for the 2026 World Cup, while calling for peace and national unity. The announcement was made during a press conference held on Thursday, May 14, at the Bethesda Church in Caradeux, led by Pastor Zidor Marcorel, known as Pastor Marco.
According to the organizers, this initiative aims to bring Haitians together around a message of hope, solidarity, and lasting peace through football: “We are seeking peace. We want lasting peace, because peace generates justice and the population will benefit,” declared Pastor Marco, urging the population to take inspiration from the Grenadiers so that all children can return to school in a safe environment. The march will start from Caradeux and will pass through several areas, including Gérald Bataille, Delmas 33, and the Delmas road, before ending at Place Saint-Pierre. Participants are invited to wear a white shirt and wave the Haitian flag as a symbol of national unity. The organizers also hope to see portraits of the Haitian national team players displayed throughout the country to honor the Grenadiers and strengthen the sense of national pride. The leaders of “Tèt Ansanm pou la Pè” made a point of clarifying that this activity has no political nature. “It is not a political march, but a march for peace,” emphasized Markinson, a member of the organization. The initiators say they are ready to welcome all Haitian citizens, regardless of identity or affiliation, with the aim of promoting a message of peace, unity, and support for the national team.
