Guatemala will host the 2027 Annual Meetings of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group from March 10 to 14. The Meetings are the IDB Group’s flagship annual event and one of the main economic and development gatherings in Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2026, the Meetings held in Paraguay brought together around 4,000 participants from 53 countries, with nearly half coming from the private sector, including about 400 business leaders and 700 top executives.

“Guatemala has been a long-time partner of the IDB Group, and we are happy to host our Annual Meetings there in 2027. The Meetings will bring together leaders from the public and private sectors worldwide to strengthen partnerships, mobilize investments, showcase Guatemala, and leave a lasting legacy for the country,” said IDB Group President Ilan Goldfajn.

“We are proud that Guatemala is welcoming participants from Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as other regions, for this important gathering,” said President Bernardo Arévalo. “The annual meetings will be an opportunity to strengthen regional dialogue, promote the exchange of experiences, and consolidate areas of cooperation that will help address the common challenges our economies face.””This event is also an occasion to acknowledge a partnership that, for more than six decades, has supported the country’s development efforts and helped strengthen the government’s ability to meet the needs of its people,” said Jonathan Menkos, Minister of Public Finance and governor to the IDB.This event will mark the 67th Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors and the 41st Annual Meeting of the IDB Invest Board of Governors. Discussions will focus on the main challenges and opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean, including high-performing and responsible artificial intelligence, resilience and disaster risk management, as well as growth and productivity.

Government officials, central bank governors, business leaders and private sector executives, investors, civil society organizations, and other international partners will attend the Meetings, providing a unique opportunity to showcase the talent, potential, and opportunities that Guatemala offers.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today to prepare for the Annual Meetings, the IDB Group’s flagship yearly event.
