Haitian political and civil society organizations, including Lòd Demokratik, led by former senator Jean Renel Sénatus, as well as the Collective of Lawyers for the Defense of Human Rights (CADDHO), are advocating for a credible democratic transition in Haiti. In a joint statement dated July 5th and addressed to the heads of state and government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), they are asking CARICOM to support ‘the establishment of a new truly inclusive dialogue framework bringing together the country’s main political, social, economic, and citizen forces.’
