During the clashes between the gangs led by Chen Mechan, Jeff Canaan, Wilson Joseph alias Lanmò San Jou, and those of Pierre 6 and Terre Noire, at several points in the Plaine du Cul-de-Sac, north of Port-au-Prince, a one-minute and sixteen-second video circulated on social media in mid-May. In the footage, Lanmò San Jou, fully immersed in the gangster’s theatrics, cigar in hand, seemingly relaxed, hums while filming about thirty rifles stored in a bedroom. Several sources indicate that they are M4 rifles (or M4 carbines), an American 5.56×45 mm NATO assault weapon, derived from the M16 but shorter, lighter, and more manageable. While theories abound regarding Lanmò San Jou’s intentions, it is certain that this is one of the rare times, if not the first time, that a gang leader showcases so many weapons of the same caliber, enough to arm a SWATT tactical unit of 12 to 30 members. An embarrassing and revealing video

The video posted by Lanmò San Jou has attracted attention at the highest level in Haiti, and in the Dominican Republic. The file is known to American officials, Le Nouvelliste has learned, highlighting that this video is embarrassing and revealing.
