FIFA will distribute to the clubs that release their internationals for the World Cup (June 11-July 19) “a minimum amount of 5.”

FIFA will distribute to clubs that release their internationals for the World Cup (June 11-July 19) “a minimum amount of $5,000 per player per day,” it announced on Friday.

To this floor, corresponding to about 4,320 euros, will be added a sum calculated according to “inclusion on the match sheet and playing time”, with a final calculation unveiled “at the end of the competition”, the body said.

The organisation had already announced last September a 70% increase in the overall budget allocated to clubs compared to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, i.e. $355 million in total (€300 million).Of this sum, $100 million for the first time concerns the qualifying period, with “about $2360 per player and per match” for the teams that released their internationals during these 905 matches.

The final phase will absorb an additional $250 million, while the remaining $5 million, “kept in reserve”, “will be allocated to world club football” on the basis of an agreement between FIFA and the powerful European Club Association (EFC).Held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the 2026 World Cup will be the first to bring together 48 teams, increasing the number of matches from 64 to 104.

FIFA is projecting revenues of $13 billion (11.18 billion euros) for its 2023-2026 cycle, an increase of 72% compared to the previous cycle. For the year 2026 alone, it expects revenues of $8.9 billion (7.66 billion euros).
