The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) confirmed at a press conference held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, that the 2026-2027 school year will start on Monday, September 7, across the entire country. On this occasion, Minister Vijonet Déméro presented several support measures, including curriculum reform, teacher training, the distribution of textbooks, school kits, uniforms, and the strengthening of school cafeterias. The government also plans to install solar energy systems and Internet access in public schools, as well as to continue renovation work on school facilities. Additionally, six new public high schools will open, and nine Technical Higher Education Centers will be created to expand access to education in several regions of the country.
