Yvan Jean Verlaine Pierre wins the 2nd edition of the Grand Quiz on May 24 in Pétion-Ville, in a final hosted by Wood Jude Jean, known as the Silent Poet, champion of the first edition.
It was in an atmosphere of warmth and suspense that the grand finale of the second edition of the Le Grand Quiz competition was held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Aïoli Restaurant, located at 39 rue Metellus in Pétion-Ville. Four contestants faced off for the title, in an intellectual competition that kept the audience on the edge of their seats until the very end. The evening was hosted by Wood Jude Jean, better known as the Silent Poet, champion of the first edition of the competition. Among the personalities present was Viviane Vital Herne Hoogendoorn, owner of Aïoli Restaurant and initiator of the competition, who, however, did not speak on this occasion.At the end of the competition, Yvan Jean Verlaine Pierre emerged victorious with 9.75 points, ahead of Thédison Germain N. Denis (9.50 points), Mardoché Fontenel (7.40 points), and Pascal-Harry Cadet Bastien (6.25 points). In addition to the trophy, the grand winner received a prize of 2,000 US dollars. At the end of the ceremony, the other finalists and participants received consolation prizes, among others. The jury of this second edition brought together several recognized figures, including Azad Belfort, Didier Gilles, Anne Désir Delbrun, and Juan Milagro Stheevens Séraphin. The contest, aimed at young people aged 18 to 40, attracted a predominantly young audience, composed of university students and young professionals. The first and second prize winners, who are, respectively, an anesthetist and a dentist, give an idea of the level of the debates.
