Daniel Supplice returns with his Biographical Dictionary of Political Personalities of Haiti.
Daniel Supplice returns with his Biographical Dictionary of Political Personalities of Haiti. The author of the famous Karioka, the book that earned him the Deschamps Prize in 1997, presented this major work dedicated to the lives of men and women who have held high political office in the country at C3 Éditions on Thursday, May 7, 2026. At the Monferrier Dorval hall of C3 Éditions, the sociologist spoke to the news reporter about his work, emphasizing that this new edition extends up to 2025. This version has been revised, corrected, and expanded.Le Nouvelliste (LN): We are happy to meet you on the occasion of the presentation of your new work, so to speak, since I believe it was already presented in 2014. At that time, it covered the period from 1804 to 2014. Is this now a revised and expanded version?
Daniel Supplice (DS): That is correct. In reality, it is not a new work, but an improved biographical dictionary. Between 2014 and today, a lot of time has passed and new personalities have held important positions in the country. This work therefore constitutes both an update and a correction, as the previous editions contained several errors and omissions. It is thus a new edition, more complete.
