‘The discussions, marked by frankness, mutual respect, and a spirit of partnership, focused on Haiti’s strategic priorities, including restoring security, organizing elections, strengthening democratic institutions, governance, bilateral cooperation, migration issues, as well as prospects for sustainable economic recovery,’ the statement reported.“The government reaffirmed its belief that the challenges Haiti is facing call for a consistent international commitment, based on respect for national sovereignty, solidarity among partners, and support for the efforts led by Haitian authorities to restore stability, strengthen the rule of law, and create the conditions for free, credible, and inclusive elections,” the statement reads.“The American delegation praised the quality of the dialogue underway and reiterated the bipartisan interest of the U.S. Congress in maintaining a close partnership with Haiti, to support security, democratic governance, economic prosperity, and the well-being of the Haitian people,” according to the government statement.

“This meeting reflects the vitality of the relations between Haiti and the United States, as well as the shared commitment to strengthen strategic cooperation in the service of peace, regional stability, and sustainable development,” the government says.
