The president of the local government of the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in Morocco announced that 60,000 migrants had crossed the border between Morocco and Ceuta in recent days, which is “the equivalent of the local population.”

“Estimates show that about 60,000 people entered our city during this episode. That represents 70% of Ceuta’s population. To give you an idea (…) it’s as if in 24 hours, 34 million people entered Spanish territory. Obviously, this number shows that it is impossible to absorb this pressure,” explained Juan Vivas at a press conference.
