The Embassy of Haiti in the Dominican Republic announced the temporary closure of its passport unit in a letter dated August 4, 2026, signed by Ambassador Emmanuel Fritz Longchamps. The unit’s general supervisor, Philippe Jabon, along with Lydia Clément, who is in charge of the unit, were asked to tell the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities staff assigned to this service not to come to the embassy until further notice.
