The Ministry of Culture and Communication (MCC), in coordination with the Prime Minister’s office, organized, on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Montana Hotel, a tribute ceremony for the leading figures of Compas direct, highlighted by the official launch of the Cultural Initiatives Support Program. Presided over by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé, the event brought together government members, the diplomatic and consular corps, as well as representatives from the cultural sector. The head of government reaffirmed the state’s commitment to artistic creation, praised the Compas artists, and reminded everyone that its inclusion on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity is an international recognition of Haitian cultural heritage.
